Cool Ideas For Old Wine Bottles

So your wine collection has grown and so has your wine drinking. You’ve had quite a bit of parties and special occasions this summer, so you’ve got quite a few empty wine bottles ready to throw away. No! Don’t throw them away – use them to create some really gorgeous pieces. Check some of these out. They’re some ideas that you can try with your old wine bottles. Your friends and family will love them! Here goes… • Try the hanging lights. This is great for your kitchen or breakfast bar. All you have to do is gather some of your wine bottles, place a small light in each of them and then suspend them from the ceiling. This is a really great idea for a beach house or cottage home. • Try an outdoor light. Take your empty wine bottle and clamp it onto a fence or a wall near your deck or patio. Set it up with a candle or a fuel-based light so that it can project a gentle, warm glow for you to enjoy at nights in the backyard. • Try stained glass. All you have to do is to choose an assortment of bottle sizes, colors and patterns and then cut the bottoms off. Next, you arrange the bottoms as you wish and hang them on the wall or in a window. • Try yarn-wrapped bottle vases. If you’ve got a lot of yarn just sitting there, maybe it’s time to put it to good use. You can start at the bottom of the bottle and wrap the yarn around the bottle. Remember to do it as snugly as you can and glue it so that it doesn’t move and cause the glass to show. You can leave it like that or you can paint it. You can even use twine instead of yarn if you like. • Try wine bottle hurricane lamps. Take a few wine bottles and cut their bottoms off. Then jus place them over some tea lights and you’ll see how the different shapes and sizes of the bottles add a classy, interesting alteration to your lighting and environment.
