Great Wines That Would Make Great Gifts

Having trouble figuring out what to give your friend, family member or spouse for their birthday, anniversary or some other celebration? We understand. You want to give them something classy and sophisticated but they’ve already got a load of gifts (that you had in mind) from all their other pals, so now you’re fresh out of ideas. No worries, we have an idea what they’ll probably like – a lovely bottle of wine! That’s right; it’s a classy and generous gift for any occasion. That’s why we want to give you 5 really great (and affordable) options for wine gifts that your friend, family member or spouse will just love! Here they are: • The 2011 Marcel Servin Chablis, Burgundy, FR, goes for about $25. It’s a Chardonnay that comes from terrior, which was “a Premiere Cru vineyard prior to World War I.” • The 2010 Chappellet Signature Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, CA, is a great $52 buy. It gives a lovely cult wine connection, with a reasonable price range. • The 2010 Château Faizeau Montagne Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux, FR, goes at a price of only $34.99. It’s a red wine that is rich and 100% Merlot. It is hinted with a little violet, black cherry, blackberry and warm spices. • The 2009 Kenneth Volk Mourvedre, Enz Vineyard, Lime Kiln Valley, CA, is only $36. This wine is made from vines that were planted in 1895 – they’re one of the oldest ones in California. • The 2008 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red Wine, Napa Valley, CA, goes for a bit of a higher price - $125. We can see why, though. It’s a well-structured wine, with layers of complexity and firm tannins. Try to give it a few years to mellow before you open it and enjoy the peak of its perfection. Mmmmmmmm! Exquisite! We hope you’ll think about getting one of these as the perfect gift or adding them to your wine collection. We can offer you professional grade wine storage for your wine collection and we can also get advice about storing your wine at home.
