Never Ever Store Your Wine Here

As wine enthusiasts, you may know a thing or two about wine storage. You know that wine should be kept at a certain temperature (specifically 65 – 68 degrees Fahrenheit) in order for it to age gracefully and retain its savor. You need to be careful about the places you store your wine at your home, because making the mistake of storing your wine away in an area with the wrong condition, could mean that you essentially ruin it. Here are some places you should NOT store your wine: • In the kitchen cabinet: It can get really hot in there, especially when there is a lot of activity in the kitchen, like preparation of a big meal, baking and so on. • By a window: Believe it or not, storing your wine near a windowsill is storing it in one of the hottest parts of your home. It will be in the line of direct sunlight and it will eventually spoil. • In the fridge: Putting your wine in the fridge for a very long time can be as damaging to the wine as heating. If you want to put it in the fridge, only put it there for a couple weeks at most. Even white wines and sparklers shouldn’t be left in there for over six months, or else they will lose their fizz. • On appliances: Storing your wine on top your fridge or your microwave or any such appliance is not a good idea. Thos appliances give off hear, which will actually cook the wine and make it taste horrible.
